SEA MAGIC: A 4mm mother-of-pearl bead dangles above bright and elegant copper looping wire, like waves on the sea. Below hangs a spiral wrapped white sea glass nugget from the shores of Puget Sound, Washington. The earwires are handmade from 20 gauge copper wire, lightly hammered on the ends and curves.
These have a light and airy feel, very whimsical. The length is approx. 3 1/2 inches from the top of the hooks.
Sea glass is often referred to as ‘mermaid’s tears’. It is formed from discarded shards of glass as the sea waves tumble and churn the pieces, rounding the sharp edges frosty smooth. It takes many years for sea glass to form into these beautiful opaque nuggets.
